A freestyle kayaker who goes olympic in slalom ? What is this world coming to ?

My longtime friend Alex Dimitriou will represent Greece during the next Olympic Games in Athen. We first met in 1997 ; we were still juniors but already on the first French team to attend freestyle Worlds. As you can guess, Alex has both French and Greek nationalities... He started paddling slalom around 2001, with the Olympics in mind, and has been the Greek national champ ever since. But he still paddles freestyle when he has time, and we had memorable sessions last winter in Lyon.



For now he's already in Athen, training at the whitewater stadium, trying to resist the free McDonalds at the Olympic Village, and repairing his competition boat, that he broke two days ago... Doh !!!
